This bedtime prayer is for those nights when you can’t stop replaying your mistakes. It’s meant to help you let go of the guilt and regret weighing on your heart before you try to sleep.
The prayer gently reminds you that God’s mercy is bigger than anything you’ve done wrong today. It’s about giving yourself permission to stop beating yourself up and accepting that you can’t change what’s already happened.
If you’re struggling to forgive yourself tonight, this prayer can help you find some peace, release what’s been bothering you, and rest easier knowing tomorrow is a fresh start. It’s a simple way to end your day feeling a little lighter and more hopeful.
Night Devotional– Prayer to Forgive Yourself

God, as I’m getting ready for bed tonight, I just need to talk to You. Today was… a lot. There are things I said and did that I wish I could take back.
I’m tired of carrying around this heaviness — the guilt, the “I should have known better” thoughts that won’t stop replaying in my head.
I know You forgive me. I really do. But sometimes the hardest part is forgiving myself. Can You help me with that? Help me stop being so hard on myself.
Help me see what You see when You look at me — someone You love, someone worth loving, someone who gets to start fresh.
I’m giving it all to You tonight — the mistakes, the regrets, the mean things I’ve said to myself today. Take them. Please replace all of that with peace.
Help me accept myself the way You accept me. Remind me that Your love is bigger than my worst moments.
While I sleep, would You just… reset my heart? Clear out today’s mess. Help me wake up tomorrow feeling lighter, like I can actually breathe again. Your mercy is new every morning — I’m counting on that.
Thank You for sticking with me, even when I’m stuck in my own head and can’t seem to let things go. Hold me close tonight. Remind me that I’m enough — not because I did everything right, but simply because I’m Yours.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
