Psalm 22:19-24 shows deep trust in God when things get tough. The writer asks God to be close and help quickly. This shows they rely on God’s strength when they’re in trouble. Deliverance and Praise.
The writer then describes the dangers they face. They talk about swords, dogs, lions, and wild oxen. These images show the writer feels in great danger and needs God’s help fast.
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Even with all these dangers, the writer is sure God will save them. They trust in God’s faithfulness and goodness, not their own strength. They promise to praise God, showing their commitment to God’s greatness, even when things are hard.
The writer also invites others to praise God. They call on those who fear the Lord, Jacob’s descendants, and all Israel’s descendants. This is a call to come together and worship God’s greatness.
Romans 8:38-39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The last verse shows God’s response to the writer’s prayer. Despite their suffering, God has not turned away. God has listened and not hidden His face. This shows God’s compassion and attention to His people, even in their darkest times.
In summary, Psalm 22:19-24 is a beautiful expression of trust and praise in hard times. It reminds us of the power of prayer and God’s faithfulness to answer our cries for help.
